Connecticut Roundtable
June 8, 2021 | 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Whether all-volunteer or staffed, land trusts across the state are recognizing that to stay vibrant, resilient, and effective for generations to come, they need to further engage in what’s happening in their communities and beyond. In this first session, join land trust leaders from across the state as they share their perspectives on what it means to be a land trust now.
This interactive discussion will provide an opportunity to explore some of the issues facing land trusts of all sizes, including:
- Prioritizing acquisitions and stewardship in light of climate change and the pending 30 x 30 initiative.
- Building new community relationships and working to be more inclusive.
- Attracting new board members and planning for others to retire.
- Looking beyond traditional missions to contemplate local land use issues ranging from siting solar to affordable housing.
The Q&A format is designed to elicit a high level of discussion with an opportunity for small group breakout conversations.
