Acres for America, established in 2005 as a partnership between Walmart and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, is a premier land conservation program aimed at offsetting the footprint of Walmart’s domestic facilities through permanent conservation of important wildlife habitats. Since its inception, the program has helped to permanently protect more than 2 million acres and connect over 47 million acres of public and private conservation lands across the country. The 2025 grant cycle continues this mission by supporting projects that conserve large-scale habitats through land acquisitions and conservation easements.

Pre-proposals are due May 20, 2025. Invite-only full proposals are due July 9, 2025.
