Conservation GIS Intern – Paid & Hybrid
The Highstead Foundation in Redding, CT, is recruiting a full-time paid GIS Intern for a 15-week position (September 2 – December 12, 2025). This remote internship, with occasional travel and in-office days required in Redding, CT, will support Highstead’s Conservation Program. The GIS Intern will work on mapping projects related to land protection planning, community engagement, and regional bird habitat conservation. Key projects include the Hudson to Housatonic Regional Conservation Partnership (H2H) and the Northeast Bird Habitat Conservation Initiative.
Applicants should be proficient in ESRI tools (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online). Strong communication skills and an interest in conservation are essential.
This position offers a stipend of $20 per hour and provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in conservation while building a professional GIS portfolio.
