Amanda Limacher
From 2008 through 2023, Amanda Limacher worked in the Remediation Division of CT DEEP overseeing the investigation and remediation of contaminated sites in southwest Connecticut and as a state expert on Environmental Use Restrictions. She has been the Brownfields Coordinator since November 2023. Amanda manages the CERCLA 128(a) Brownfields Grant Program, awarding approximately $750,000 per year to the assessment and cleanup of brownfield sites that will be redeveloped as open space for community enjoyment. In coordination with the CT Department of Economic and Community Development’s (DECD) Office of Remediation and Brownfield Redevelopment (ORBD), Amanda oversees sites in Brownfield Liability Relief Programs and works as a liaison between Remediation Division’s site project management and brownfields redevelopment stakeholders. Prior to working for the State, she was employed as an environmental consultant. Amanda graduated from Champlain College with an A.S. in Accounting, UCONN with a B.S. in Agriculture and Natural Resources, and University of Hartford with a Paralegal Certificate. Amanda grew up in Burlington, Vermont but has lived in Connecticut for most of her adult life. She resides in Bolton with her partner, two sons, a stepdaughter, and two large self-righteous cats. She loves hiking, cooking, reading, and the beautiful chaos of a blended family.
