David Brant
David was an organic farmer in Vermont, starting one of the state’s first CSA farms in 1992. From there he moved to Minneapolis where he built multi-use urban green space pocket parks for the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board.
In 1995 he founded Youth Farm in Minneapolis to teach young people about agriculture, economics and healthy eating. He moved to Boston for two years where he served as Youth Policy Director developing career ladder programs for young people at the Boston Private Industry Council. He moved back to Minneapolis and created a summer jobs program for youth for the City of Minneapolis called STEP-UP, growing it into the second largest private sector summer jobs program for young people in the country. He has served as Executive Director of Aspetuck Land Trust since 2008.
He lives in Fairfield, CT with his wife Jill and two children and three dogs.
