David holds a Forestry degree from the University of Tennessee, and has been a forester for 35 years (29 of those with the Forestry Division). Most of his experience has been the active management of state forests in Northwest CT, also serving on wildfires as needed in the state and throughout the country. He also has private sector forestry experience in New Hampshire and Alabama. His current position in the Private and Municipal Lands Program has allowed him to visit forests and provide assistance for 19 different land trusts since spring 2024.
