Julia Rogers is the Conservation Director at the Housatonic Valley Association (HVA), where she provides organizational and regional leadership for conservation strategy across the Housatonic watershed. She holds a B.A. in Biology from Colby College and an M.S. in Natural Resources and the Environment from the University of Connecticut.
Julia brings nearly a decade of experience working with land trusts, with roles in south-central Pennsylvania, northeastern Connecticut, and the Hudson Valley of New York that supported land protection projects, conservation easement and fee-land stewardship, and conservation planning across a range of landscapes. Her background also includes applied ecological research on invasive plant species, non-native earthworms, and tropical rainforest restoration.
At HVA, Julia oversees the full scope of conservation programming, including Clean, Cold, & Connected and the Follow the Forest initiatives, working closely with partners throughout the region to advance collaborative, high-impact conservation efforts focused on habitat connectivity and addressing the climate crisis. Outside of work, she enjoys whitewater paddling, trail running, hiking, and exploring the Housatonic River Valley.
