Maggie Redfern: Director of the Connecticut College Arboretum and President of New London Trees: With a passion for trees, Maggie leads the stewardship of the 750-acre Arboretum for the College and the community. She also teaches classes and cultivates an appreciation for the natural world with guided tours and propagation workshops. Maggie joined the Arboretum staff in 2014 and served as assistant director for eight years. In 2020 Maggie worked with a group of community members to establish New London Trees, a non-profit organization with a mission to increase the city’s tree population through community planting and care, education, and advocacy.
