Mia Park

Dr. Mia Park is the Integrated Pest and Pollinator Management Specialist in the Pesticide Program at the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation. She supports Xerces field staff and partners to implement agricultural practices that reduce risk of pesticides to bees and other beneficial organisms. She received her Ph.D. in the Department of Entomology at Cornell University, where her research focused on the impact of land use and pesticides on wild bees in New York apple orchards. Her dissertation work revealed a negative impact of fungicides, sprayed before and during bloom, on wild pollinators, as well as the importance of natural habitat for wild bees. Prior to recently joining the Xerces Society, Mia spent a decade studying effects of land management on pollinators in both urban and rural landscapes.
