Nancy Marek
Nancy Marek, Founder of BirdHabitatBot, is currently developing a robot prototype under the National Science Foundation’s Small Business Innovation Research grant. She is working on a new method using drones and robotics to map/monitor/remove non-native invasive plants in the deciduous forest understory.
She received a B.A. in biology from Mount Holyoke College, a MS-Forestry from the Yale School of the Environment, and a Ph.D. from the Dept. of Natural Resources and the Environment at the University of Connecticut.
Marek is also a licensed forester in CT. Her favorite activities include reading, gardening, and birdwatching.
