Rex Linville is the eastern division director of field programs for the Land Trust Alliance. He joined the Alliance in 2022, bringing more than 20 years of experience as a conservation practitioner. In 2000, Rex joined Maryland’s Eastern Shore Land Conservancy. In 2004, he signed on with the Piedmont Environmental Council in Virginia, where he honed his skills as a “front line” land trust representative, building relationships with landowners and partner organization to initiate, manage and close deals to conserve more than 70,000 acres of land. Rex served on the board of Virginia United Land Trusts, is on the board of the Albemarle Conservation Easement Authority and is a seasoned advocate for conservation at the local, state and federal levels. He studied finance at Virginia Tech and holds a master’s degree in forestry from Colorado State University.
