Robert LaFrance received his JD from Quinnipiac University School of Law (IOLTA Fellow) and BA in Economics and Ecology from the University of Arizona.

Formerly the Director of Governmental Affairs for the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), he is currently the Director of Policy (CT) for the National Audubon Society, as well as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Quinnipiac School of Law, Member of the Habitat Committee of the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) and an on-going proxy for Governor’s Appointee to the ASMFC.

He is an advisor to graduate students at the Yale School of the Environment, commissioner (and former Vice Chair) of the town of Clinton’s Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission, member of DEEP’s Environmental Justice Working Group, member of the Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) Advisory Committee, member of the Financing and Funding Adaptation and Resilience and the Resilient Infrastructure and Nature Based Solutions Working Groups of the Governor’s Council on Climate Change (GC3), member of the Dean’s Advisory Board of the University of Connecticut’s College of Agriculture, Health and Natural Resources, and recently appointed as a Member of the Advisory Board of the Connecticut Office of the Conservation Law Foundation.
