Vincent LaFontan
Vincent D. LaFontan serves as Executive Director of Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust, bringing decades of leadership in nonprofit administration, education, and community programming. A Kent, Connecticut native, he previously directed Farmington Public Schools’ nationally recognized Extended Care and Learning programs.
With a deep passion for conservation, outdoor education, and New England’s agricultural heritage, Vincent is dedicated to connecting children, families, and adults with the natural world. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he holds degrees in Family Studies and Sociology from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Health Administration from Western Connecticut State University.
Vincent is also an accomplished author and editor on best practices in after-school education and the author of two children’s books, including The Farmhouse Ladybug (2017). His extensive experience in fundraising, program development, and community engagement supports his vision of advancing Flanders’ mission of environmental education and land stewardship.
