DeployGoats provides commercial targeted grazing for land trusts, municipalities, utilities, solar operators, and conservation organizations across Connecticut and the Northeast. Goat and sheep crews clear invasive plants, brush, and overgrown terrain that machines and herbicides handle poorly: steep slopes, rocky ground, wetland buffers, and sensitive habitat. Projects are delivered through a vetted network of professional grazing operators under formal purchase orders, with public RFP response experience. Fully insured, COI on request. Services include multi-acre invasives management programs, solar site grazing with sheep through sister brand DeploySheep, utility right of way vegetation management, and integrated grazing plus mechanical follow-up programs. Projects start at $900; site walk and written proposal at no charge. Based in New Hartford, Connecticut. Residential grazing in the Hudson Valley, western Connecticut, and the Berkshires is served by Hudson Valley Goats.

What we do. Goats and sheep clear invasive plants and woody brush in the places machines and herbicides serve poorly: steep slopes, rocky terrain, wetland buffers, riparian edges, stone walls, and habitat where soil disturbance or chemical load is unacceptable. Typical targets include oriental bittersweet, multiflora rose, Japanese barberry, knotweed, autumn olive, poison ivy, and general understory overgrowth. Each grazing program is designed around the site: mob size, animal days per acre, fencing plan, water, daily monitoring, and repeat treatments scheduled to exhaust regrowth rather than just knock back top growth.

How we deliver. Projects run through a vetted network of professional grazing operators managed under formal purchase orders, so capacity scales to multi-acre and multi-site programs without sacrificing accountability. Fully insured, COI on request. We respond to public RFPs and have experience with municipal and utility authority procurement, including bid documents and scope of work specifications written in animal days per acre.

Services. Invasive plant and brush control by targeted grazing. Solar site vegetation management with sheep through our sister brand DeploySheep. Utility and pipeline right of way vegetation management. Integrated programs pairing grazing with mechanical follow-up for complete control. Multi-year stewardship grazing plans with monitoring and reporting.

Why grazing for conservation land. Grazing removes vegetation without herbicide drift, soil compaction from heavy equipment, or noise, and it tolerates terrain that defeats mowers. On publicly visible conservation properties it is also an engagement asset: site visits during a graze reliably draw members, neighbors, and local press, turning a maintenance line item into a stewardship story.

Coverage and pricing. Based in New Hartford (Litchfield County) with grazing crews deployed across Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, and New Jersey, and national deployment available for larger programs. Projects start at $900. Site walk and written proposal at no charge.

Residential note. DeployGoats serves commercial and institutional clients. Homeowners in the Hudson Valley, western Connecticut, and the Berkshires are served by our residential brand, Hudson Valley Goats (hudsonvalleygoats.com).
