My goal is to help land trusts strengthen their internal capacity so they can focus on their core mission. I provide organizational development consulting to build clarity, capacity, and systems that support long-term conservation success. I have worked as staff at a small land trust, board member of an all-volunteer land trust, and as the New England lead at the Land Trust Alliance, where I supported land trusts across a range of size and capacity. This allows me to meet organizations where they are and provide support that reflects their constraints and opportunities.

Areas of expertise include: organizational capacity building; organizational assessments; governance and board development; leadership support; strategic planning and work planning; facilitation and collaborative processes; policies, procedures, and implementation; and targeted research and analysis. I offer both structured engagements and flexible, project-based support.

WHAT I DO

My goal is to help land trusts strengthen their internal capacity so they can focus on their core mission. I provide organizational development consulting to build clarity, capacity, and systems that support long-term conservation success.

EXPERIENCE & PERSPECTIVE

My work is informed by experience from across the land conservation sector. I have worked as staff at a small land trust, a board member of an all-volunteer land trust, and as the New England lead at the Land Trust Alliance, where I supported land trusts across a wide range of size and capacity. This perspective allows me to meet organizations where they are and provide support that reflects their constraints and opportunities.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE

– Organizational capacity building: supporting land trusts as they increase capacity, initiate new programs or projects, and adapt internal systems to meet evolving needs.

– Organizational assessments: evaluating operations against best practices, identifying strengths and opportunities with the goal of building strong, enduring organizations.

– Governance and board development: strengthening board roles, structures, and decision-making to support effective leadership and accountability.

– Leadership support: facilitating peer learnings, retreats, and coaching to help individuals navigate transition and increasing organizational complexity.

– Strategic planning and work planning: helping organizations clarify priorities and translate goals into realistic, achievable plans.

– Facilitation and collaborative processes: designing and facilitating meetings and retreats that foster clarity, trust, and forward momentum.

– Policies, procedures, and implementation: supporting the creation and use of policies and practices aligned with organizational goals and best practices.

– Targeted research and analysis: conducting qualitative and quantitative methods to inform decision making and advance conservation outcomes.

HOW I WORK

Clients choose to work with me because:

– I bring both lived experience in land trusts and a calm, organized, and collaborative approach to organizational challenges.

– I am a careful listener who helps organizations break complex challenges into manageable steps and move forward with clarity rather than overwhelm.

– I offer structure without rigidity and guidance without imposing one-size-fits-all solutions.

– I prioritize practical outcomes and processes that respect the limited time and capacity of land trusts.

– The goal of my work is to leave organizations more confident, aligned, and better equipped to navigate their next stage of growth. I offer both structured engagements and flexible, project-based support.
