Raptor Ridge Farm provides targeted goat grazing and habitat restoration services designed specifically for land trusts, municipalities, and conservation organizations. Our managed herds reduce invasive plant pressure, open understories, and promote native plant regeneration using a low-impact, ecological approach. We combine rotational grazing, photo-point monitoring, and multi-day browsing cycles to support long-term stewardship goals.

We also offer follow-up recommendations, pollinator-friendly restoration planning, and seasonal grazing programs aligned with Connecticut conservation priorities. Raptor Ridge Farm serves sites ranging from small preserves to multi-acre restoration projects.

Raptor Ridge Farm is a Lebanon-based conservation grazing and habitat-restoration team specializing in the ecological use of goats for invasive plant suppression, brush reduction, and native plant recovery. We partner with land trusts, municipalities, and stewardship organizations across Connecticut to implement low-impact vegetation management solutions that align with long-term conservation goals.

Our approach focuses on targeted multi-day browsing cycles that weaken invasive species such as multiflora rose, bittersweet, autumn olive, garlic mustard, mugwort, knotweed, and poison ivy while minimizing soil disturbance. We use portable electric fencing, daily site monitoring, and documented before/after photo-points to track progress and ensure animal safety.

Each project begins with a walk-through to understand site goals, sensitive habitats, native plant communities, and public-access considerations. We design tailored grazing plans that fit stewardship priorities such as:
• Invasive species suppression over multiple seasons
• Habitat opening for native shrubs and herbaceous layers
• Pollinator corridor establishment
• Meadow restoration and vegetation load reduction
• Viewshed and trail-edge maintenance
• Low-impact alternatives to mechanical or chemical treatment

Raptor Ridge Farm also offers optional restoration add-ons, including overseeding with native meadow mixes, recommendations for follow-up mechanical work, and scheduling for recurring annual grazing cycles.
. Our herd is trained for steep terrain, rocky sites, wetlands edges, forest understories, and sensitive conservation areas where machinery or herbicide may not be appropriate.

We currently manage multiple crews of goats, enabling us to service both institutional partners and small preserves while maintaining high standards for safety, containment, and ecological focus. As a veteran-owned family business, we bring a strong stewardship ethic, clear communication, and fast response times to every partner we serve.

We welcome opportunities to collaborate with land trusts seeking innovative, science-aligned management tools that support native biodiversity and long-term habitat health.
