Specialties include research on, and management of, invasive knotweeds; interacting with State and municipal wetland laws and regulations; and botanical education. ELM’s Principal, Brian Colleran, has a long history with riparian area restoration projects in several biomes, and has been an author on four peer reviewed publications focused on how invasive knotweeds amplify and exacerbate riparian erosion.

We are a certified Supervising Forest Products Harvester through the CT DEEP. We have worked on trail creation, field reclamation and invasive species removal projects.

My experience includes open space planning, acquisition, and management as a municipal official, land trust board member, and private consultant. My primary area of environmental interest is studying southern New England’s dynamic landscape through historic research and geospatial analysis. Past work includes land surveying, GIS analysis and mapping (extensive), environmental planning, IWWC staff, firefighting, and consulting forestry.

Planet Zero Gravity, LLC specializes in precise site mapping using UAV and GIS technology. We are certified in sustainable trail layout and design. By combining aerial imagery with GIS, we are able to create detailed conceptual plans, beautiful trail maps, and slope analysis of your existing or planned trail corridor to uncover potential problems. Some of our past clients include the National Park Service, the City of Hartford, the Town of Suffield, and the Audubon Society.
