Vanessa Giannasi

Development Director

Vanessa joined the Connecticut Land Conservation Council (CLCC) in 2022 as its first Development Director.

Vanessa has encouraged philanthropy in Connecticut for over twenty years; eleven in the Development office of The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, and ten as Director of Foundation and Community Relations for Duncaster retirement community.

She additionally taught undergraduate Fundraising at the University of Hartford and provided capacity-building consultancies to arts and heritage organizations statewide as a Peer Advisor to the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism.

She achieved a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and her MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Vanessa’s love of Connecticut’s environment and her desire to protect its natural resources for future generations are what drew her to CLCC.

She is currently receiving assistance from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) to rehabilitate and release a juvenile crow.

In her free time, Vanessa can be found kayaking, gardening, or enjoying nature photography.
