This week, The Friends of the Hockanum River Linear Park (HRLP) of Vernon released a new video documenting the construction of a suspended bridge project completed at the end of 2017.

Connecting the Vernon and Ellington HRLP Trails, the bridge was designed by Vernon’s town engineer, built entirely by community volunteers, and funded by a state Recreational Trails Program grant.  In an article about his visit to the bridge, Peter Marteka of the Hartford Courant wrote, “The natural world is always fun. And connections like these make it even better especially when it brings a smile to your face.”
