C.3 Agroforestry: A Permanent Climate-Smart Solution for Conservation Lands
This presentation will discuss the different agroforestry practices that can be applied to forested, cultivated, and pastured land. Agroforestry is the intentional planting of trees within agricultural systems to create a more resilient and diversified cropping system. It has been practiced worldwide for millennia and is now becoming a common practice in the United States. Learn about the practices and how they work, as well as trees and shrubs used in agroforestry systems and the markets that support woody perennial commodities. Also covered will be USDA-NRCS funding for incorporating agroforestry practices on forests and farmland.
