D.4 Together for Trees: Building a Community of Forest Stewards through the Connecticut Master Woodland Manager Program
Join us to discover how you can make a meaningful impact on our state’s woodlands and become part of a dedicated community of stewards committed to preserving our natural heritage for future generations in the Connecticut Master Woodland Manager (MWM) program. This innovative initiative is designed to equip woodland owners and managers with the skills and knowledge necessary to enhance Connecticut’s vital forest ecosystem. Launched in September 2021 and boasting over 150 total participants, this program combines field-based and virtual-learning experiences, connecting participants with leading experts in forestry and wildlife management. This session will provide a comprehensive overview of the program’s goals, structure and curriculum, highlighting its impact over four years. We will emphasize the need for active and educated woodland managers to keep privately owned woodlands healthy, as well as feature success stories from past participants. Audience: Ideal for land trust staff and volunteers, woodland owners, environmental educators, conservationists
