D.6 Connecticut Trail Finder: A Communication and Trail Map Tool

Room: TBD
Intro Level, Intermediate Level, Advanced Level

In this workshop, we will introduce, demo, and discuss CT Trail Finder’s features and benefits that make it a useful tool for trail managers (land trusts!) seeking a communication outlet, geospatial data, and more. We will discuss the process with managers to ensure that only approved and accurate information and trail maps are published, and reasons why working together benefits everyone. There will be time for questions and discussion about CT Trail Finder from both user and manager perspectives. One new feature we will highlight is trailside services, designed to help connect trail resources with local economies. Attendees will learn how CT Trail Finder can complement Land Trust trail management strategies, and some ways in which we have collaborated with land trust organizations. This workshop is for anyone! CT Trail Finder is part of the UConn CT Trails Program and is supported by CT DEEP and the CT Greenways Council.
