D.8 Creating Accessible Communications for Conservation
This 45-minute workshop is designed for anyone managing communications within small and all-volunteer conservation organizations who wants to create more inclusive content. Participants will learn practical strategies for making digital media—such as websites, social media, and newsletters—accessible to people with disabilities. Topics include writing content compatible with screen readers, adding alternative text to images, and providing captions and transcripts for videos and audio. Attendees will leave with actionable tips they can immediately implement to make their communications more inclusive, fostering greater community engagement.
