Farmland Preservation: Funding Sources and Other Considerations for Protecting Agricultural Land
Farmland is a scarce commodity in our state. Your land trust can help save it. For land trusts interested in farmland preservation, this session will cover considerations such as: Easement or fee? Who will farm the land? How will we pay for it? You’ll leave with the tools and resources to start saving farms in your region.
Presenter(s)
Kathleen Doherty, Senior Conservation Manager, Connecticut Farmland Trust
Gwen Marrion, Director, Bolton Land Trust; Vice-Chair, Connecticut Land Conservation Council

“More than any other, this event galvanizes and strengthens our conservation efforts in Connecticut. We’ve been looking forward to a return to CLCC’s in-person conference for three years. That day is finally here!”
- Stuart Winquist, President, Middlesex Land Trust
