Introduction to Property Features Mapping with the Avenza App
Land stewards will be introduced on how to do some basic mapping with the Avenza app. Using waypoints and tracks, stewards will learn how to both navigate and collect data when on a property. Applications of the app will be shown and include the mapping of trail work, mapping of invasive control work, finding property boundaries, finding a property feature, creating and navigating a sampling grid, the use of geofences to create feature buffers, and taking photo waypoints. The workshop will begin in the classroom and then move outside to play with the app, if weather permits. Having the Avenza app downloaded to your phone before the workshop is recommended.
