Collaboration Pathways for Land Trusts: Joint Ventures, Affiliation, and More
June 18 | 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Collaboration can take many forms — from informal coordination and shared services to more integrated structures like joint ventures and corporate affiliations. In this webinar, Dan Salazar, CLCC’s 2025 Encore Fellow, will introduce a spectrum of collaborative models available to land trusts, with a primary focus on the more advanced approaches highlighted in CLCC’s new guide, Land Trust Collaboration Pathways.
Dan will briefly situate these models within the broader collaboration spectrum, then take a closer look at how joint ventures and corporate affiliation structures can help land trusts share capacity, strengthen operations, manage risk, and preserve local identity. The session will also explore practical examples of how these models could apply in Connecticut and what questions organizations should consider when deciding whether a more formal collaboration is the right fit.
This program is designed for land trust leaders, board members, staff, and others in the land conservation community who are interested in the future of collaboration in conservation.
