The Connecticut Land Conservation Council's mission is to elevate and strengthen land conservation in Connecticut.

We work to ensure that our parks, forests, farmlands, community gardens, streams, and wetlands are protected in perpetuity for the benefit of our present and future generations.

LAND & EASEMENT ACQUISITION PROGRAM (LEAP)

CLCC's LEAP Grants Protect Core Forests and Vital Waterways Across Connecticut

Salisbury, Killingworth, Sharon, and Roxbury Land Trusts to accelerate protection of biodiversity, water quality, and public access to nature.

The Connecticut Land Conservation Council has awarded $466,250 in LEAP (Land & Easement Acquisition Program) grants to accelerate the permanent protection of 378 acres of land and water across the state. These grants ensure significant benefits, including biodiversity protection, enhanced climate resilience, and expanded public access to nature.

  • Helping land trusts protect more than 7,000 acres.
  • Awarding ~$2MM in grant funding for land acquisitions, due diligence, and climate-smart stewardship.
  • Unlocking public funding for conservation and securing green policies for land stewardship.
  • Upskilling the staff and volunteers of CT's ~120 land trusts and forging new partnerships to advance common goals for protecting land and water.
