Excellence in Conservation Awards
We are proud to celebrate and feature our winners for our annual Excellence in Conservation Awards. In making these awards, CLCC seeks to recognize organizations and individuals who have made a substantive contribution to the ongoing success of land conservation in our state and projects that may serve as a guide to or be replicable by other land trusts and conservation organizations in Connecticut.
New! Excellence in Community Engagement Award
The Excellence in Community Engagement Award recognizes land trust connections to local communities, the region, and wider society, celebrating how partnerships and collaborative relationships address community needs and connect more people to the land, and each other. Eligible honorees include individuals, land trusts, community organizations, municipalities, and other local, regional, and state entities.
Excellence in Conservation Organization Award
The Excellence in Conservation Organization Award is presented to organizations completing projects in the previous year that demonstrate excellence in any aspect of land conservation work and move land conservation forward in a creative and substantive way.
Katchen Coley Award for Excellence in Conservation
The Katchen Coley Award for Excellence in Conservation is named in honor and memory of Katchen Coley (1924-2013), a longtime CLCC Steering Committee member and activist for many environmental and social causes at the local, state and federal levels.
The award recognizes a person that embodies all that Katchen meant to land conservation: An individual fiercely devoted to land conservation whose long-term volunteer service has furthered the work of one or more conservation organizations and serves as an inspiration to others to continue to “fight the good fight” with passion and tenacity in support of land conservation and the environment.
