Community Investment Act Lobby Day
April 7 | 10:30 am - 2:00 pm
Join supporters of the Community Investment Act on April 7 for a Community Investment Act Lobby Day to celebrate 20 years of impact and advocate for increased funding to this critical source of community funding.
Enacted in 2005, the Community Investment Act (CIA) provides dedicated funding to conserve open space, protect farmland, support dairy farmers, preserve historic properties, and create affordable housing.
CIA Lobby Day Goal: The event’s goal is to support SB 1522, which was voted out of the Government Administration and Elections Committee and would raise the recording fee that funds the CIA. The bill now moves to the Senate for a vote. The CIA Lobby Day is a great opportunity to thank your legislators for supporting the CIA and the bill.
Host Organizations: Connecticut Farm Bureau, American Farmland Trust/Working Lands Alliance, Preservation Connecticut, Partnership for Strong Communities, Connecticut Land Conservation Council
Parking: There is a large parking garage at the Legislative Office Building with free parking right next to the building.
Directions: The Legislative Office Building is located at 300 Capital Avenue, Hartford, CT. You may find directions here.
