Historic Buildings – A primer on historic preservation, restoration, designations, and funding

November 16, 2022   |   12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

CLCC is partnering with Preservation Connecticut to co-host a program for land trusts interested in learning more about historic building ownership. Topics covered will include the types of historic restrictions and designations, an introduction to historic restoration, funding opportunities for preservation, and more. We will also be joined by Vince LaFontan, Executive Director of Flanders Nature Center and Land Trust, who has worked with Preservation Connecticut to preserve and restore antique structures at Flanders.

This program builds upon Preservation Connecticut’s “Talking About Preservation” series. Inspired by the governor’s “Stay Safe, Stay Home” order of March 2020, these virtual noontime conversations help share the happenings in the world of preservation as well as engage community members. Coming up on the 50th session, most of the recordings can be found on the PCT YouTube page, HERE.

About Preservation Connecticut: For over four decades, Preservation Connecticut, formerly named the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation, has successfully championed the protection of remarkable community assets all over the state by leveraging funding, advocating, forming partnerships and promoting stewardship.
