The Connecticut Land Conservation Council, Middlebury Land Trust, and the Afro-Caribbean Cultural Center present “Pathways to Nature: Art and Hike,” a unique outdoor experience for youth.

As part of the Afro-Caribbean Cultural Center’s Summer Program, youth participants will venture to Middlebury Land Trust’s scenic Lake Elise property. Prior to the hike the youth will watch “Rising Tides,” a documentary on renowned nature artist Andy Goldsworthy, to inspire creativity and environmental appreciation. On the day of, guided by MLT volunteers Alice Hallaran and Ditta Carley, attendees will embark on a one-mile hike, investigate local aquatic life, and collaborate on an art project inspired by Goldsworthy’s work. This enriching field trip fosters a connection with nature, encourages creative expression, and strengthens community partnerships.
