The 1772 Foundation, in cooperation with Preservation Connecticut, offers matching grants of up to $10,000 for historic preservation work in Connecticut. The program supports exterior, structural, and safety upgrades to nonprofit-owned historic properties (excluding churches, schools, and municipalities). Applicants must submit a Letter of Inquiry by December 5, 2025; selected applicants will be invited to submit a full application by February 13, 2026. Matching funds and competitive bidding are required, and funds are not retroactive for work already completed. The intent is to support preservation of historic assets within the state by leveraging local investment.
