As any land steward knows, not every invasive plant can be eradicated. This webinar explores how land trusts can make thoughtful, strategic decisions about when and why to manage invasive plants, acknowledging both ecological realities and limited capacity.
This webinar will cover frameworks for prioritization, such as protecting high-quality habitats or targeting early infestations, and explore cases where leaving some invasives in place may be more practical than actively managing. Our speaker will address how land stewardship staff and volunteers can approach this issue more broadly as well as get into some prioritization specifics.
Presenter: Lauren Kurtz, Invasive Plant and Horticulture Specialist at the UConn Home and Garden Education Center.
