Eric Hammerling
Secretary, West Hartford
Eric Hammerling has been part of the CLCC leadership team since 2010.
Eric has a conservation career that spans 30 years. He has worked for the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, the Center for Ecological Technology in Northampton, and the Farmington River Watershed Association as its Executive Director. His love for working on difficult conservation challenges has led to his appointments as Chair of DEEP’s State Vegetation Management Task Force, Co-Chair of the Environment Committee transition team providing policy recommendations to the Lamont/Bysiewicz administration, and as Chair of the Forests Sub-Group providing recommendations to the Governor’s Council on Climate Change.
Since 2008, Eric has served as the Executive Director of the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA) and its lead advocate at the state legislature on forestry, recreation, education, and trail-related policy issues. Eric serves on the boards of Friends of CT State Parks and Connwood Foresters and is on the Steering Committee of Friends of Auerfarm Scenic Reserve and the Working Lands Alliance.
Eric brings to CLCC an innovative mind, considering all courses of action in decision making and bringing to light ideas that at times escape us all.
