Connecticut’s Changing Landscape Land Cover Maps and Data: The Next Generation

Intro Level

UConn CLEAR’s Connecticut’s Changing Landscape project has helped inform land use discussions at local, watershed, regional, and statewide levels. With support from the Long Island Sound Partnership, CLEAR has completed a major update that includes land cover from 1985 through 2023, a study area that covers the entire Long Island Sound Watershed, and utilizes federally created land cover. New map viewers and dashboards allow users to interact with the maps and data by watershed, municipality, riparian area, and more. The workshop will discuss new methods, summary statistics of how our state and watersheds have changed, and demonstrate how to use the tools to explore.
