Interpretive Messaging – Ensuring Your Publications, Waysides, Kiosks and Exhibits are Effective
Participants will explore the foundations of interpretive writing to ensure that their organization’s publications, exhibits, kiosks, and waysides are engaging rather than merely informative for visitors. Through small group discussions, hands-on projects, formal presentations, and active conversations about best practices, participants will leave with a “toolbox” of ideas and techniques designed to elevate public and visitor engagement. The goal is to transform standard kiosks, waysides, and brochures from simple bulletin boards of information, facts, rules, and regulations, into resources that engage visitors and foster a sense of stewardship. This workshop will also incorporate strategies for effective communication with multilingual speakers and individuals with disabilities.
