Partnering for Farmland Access: Working with Farmers through Connecticut Farmlink
This session will introduce participants to Connecticut Farmlink, a statewide program that connects landowners with farmers seeking land. Tailored for land trusts and municipal staff, but also touching on private landowners, the workshop will highlight practical strategies for engaging with farmers and supporting farmland access. Presenters will share existing in-state models that demonstrate how land trusts and towns can successfully lease and/or transfer land, support farm viability, and plan for long-term stewardship. The session will include ample time for open discussion, allowing participants to share experiences, ask questions, and provide feedback to strengthen farmland access efforts across Connecticut.
