Property Surveys for Land Stewardship and Conservation
Participants will learn about the process of obtaining a Property Survey including how to develop a proposal, a good description of land, scope of work, what monumentation, coordinate systems, certification and deliverables, both physical & digital, should be included to enhance stewardship and land management. Participants will learn about the key components of a good survey including land records research, field work, computations, boundary determinations and the contents of a good survey plan. It will cover common issues affecting a property including title defects, boundary conflicts, easements, unrecorded rights, and adverse possession. Exhibits and examples to enhance understanding.
