Using CREST to Discover Natural and Other Resources On and Near Your Land

Intro Level, Intermediate Level, Advanced Level

CREST, the “Community Renewable Energy Siting Tool,” was established to assist with siting renewable energy in suitable locations, but it is a versatile free online tool that is easy to use and provides access to ~35 layers of data – demographic, forestry, geology, land use, water, wildlife, and more – from state, federal, and institutional sources. Learn how CREST can be used in your efforts to conserve land from the folks at DEEP who developed it.
