Landscape of wind blowing through tan grass with green trees and blue skies

During a strategic planning retreat at Rosgen Woods this past year, we witnessed the crucial importance of teamwork in land conservation. Guided by Winchester Land Trust’s Jen Perga and Shelley Harms, our CLCC team explored the stunning landscape and tackled an unexpected challenge—climbing the “Great Red Oak.” This experience reinforced our collaborative spirit and commitment to our mission.

Our partnerships with land trusts, volunteers, community advocates, government entities, and others empower us to protect vital lands and advance conservation policies crucial to our environment and economy. You play a critical role in all facets of this teamwork, helping to create a sustainable future for generations to come.

Now, in these uncertain times and amidst evolving environmental challenges, CLCC remains dedicated to elevating land conservation in Connecticut. More than ever, we are committed to supporting land trusts across the state that in safeguarding the natural spaces that sustain us.

In CLCC’s newly released 2024 Updates & Highlights Report, we outline our progress toward the goals of our 2023-2027 Strategic Plan, focusing on:

  • Increasing the pace and amount of land protected in Connecticut
  • Building a strong, sustainable land conservation community
  • Enhancing the permanence of protected lands
  • Integrating diversity, equity, inclusivity, and environmental justice
  • Strengthening CLCC’s organizational capacity to lead the conservation community

I invite you to download and read our 2024 Updates & Highlights Report to learn more about these initiatives and how your partnership with CLCC makes a difference.
Thank you for inspiring us every day and reminding us of the power of teamwork and collaboration in ensuring that the benefits of nature are available for all.
