Resilient and Connected Appalachians Grant Program

Category:
Foundations
Range:
Up to $50,000
Size:
Type:
Climate Change, Environmental, Land Acquisition, Stewardship

The Resilient and Connected Appalachians Grant Program (RCA) offers grants of up to $50,000 to support projects that result in the permanent protection (fee or easement acquisitions) of Resilient and Connected lands in focal landscapes.

The program map viewer displays the eligible areas for funding within the Resilient and Connected Network of land (RCN) in the Appalachians. There, you can determine if your project is eligible, upload shape files or sketch a polygon and create your project map(s). Northwest CT land trusts within the eligible areas may apply; however, projects adjacent to or outside of the mapped areas that represent exceptional conservation values with multiple benefits, including well-defined benefits to underserved communities may also be considered, as funding allows.

Eligible Expenses for Acquisition Projects Include:

  • Project capital
  • Stewardship and legal defense funding
  • Match funding
  • Project development costs (e.g., surveys, title search, environmental assessments)
  • Legal support
  • Technical support (e.g., hiring GIS or natural inventory consultants)
  • Operational costs (e.g., staff salaries and travel expenses associated with the project)

An informational webinar will be held on January 10, 2024. Register here.
