Overview

The Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation (FPR), within the Agency of Natural Resources (ANR), seeks a qualified and motivated individual to help advance the Agency’s work under the Community Resilience and Biodiversity Protection Act (CRBPA). The successful candidate will work closely with FPR’s Land Conservation Program Manager and other ANR staff to organize the Agency’s participation in the CRBPA’s conserved lands inventory and planning. Further, the position will help the Agency contribute to the goals and vision of the CRBPA by advancing land conservation projects within the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation.

This position presents the opportunity to work with leaders in Vermont’s conservation community to plan for and achieve a cohesive statewide conservation vision. More specifically, the position’s duties will focus on the following:

  • Help coordinate the Agency’s participation in and contribution to the conserved lands inventory and development of a conservation plan, as articulated in the CRBPA.
  • Work with conservation professionals in ANR and around the state to coordinate, organize and standup the necessary systems, processes and meetings to complete the conserved lands inventory and develop the conservation plan, as articulated in the CRBPA.
  • Gather and produce deliverables such as databases, assessments, and planning documents to contribute to the CRBPA.
  • Work with landowners, conservation partners, ANR staff, funders and contractors to develop, assess, and complete land conservation projects and legal land transactions for the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation.
