Good news! The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) has posted the updated land trust contact list on the authority’s water webpage.
Access the land trust contact list here >>
For reference, the significance of the highlighted fields is as follows:
Yellow = PURA has contacted the land trust and is waiting for a reply.
Blue = PURA was not able to reach a live person for updates and will continue to reach out.
White = Updated/confirmed.
Why is this contact list important?
Legislation requires water companies—the state’s second-largest owners of open space—to give land trusts notice when they put land up for sale. The land trust gets 90 days to learn about the conservation opportunity and evaluate whether it wants to purchase the water company’s land.
PURA, which oversees the sale of water company lands, keeps a contact list so that when the company puts land up for sale, it has the most up-to-date information in order to provide your land trust with notice. Every year, CLCC and Save the Sound partner to ensure the list is up-to-date.
Call to Action for Land Trusts
Please review the 2025 land trust contact list. If your land trust’s listing needs updating, please send the information to Sheena.McElrath@ct.gov and cc CLCC’s Amy Blaymore Paterson at abpaterson@ctconservation.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as CLCC and Save the Sound work with PURA on this important annual project. CLCC also thanks the staff at PURA for their assistance and cooperation in creating a new process to collect this information and keep it up-to-date.
