Building Enduring Land Trusts – A Grant Program to Encourage & Support Mergers
The Peter and Carmen Lucia Buck Foundation (PCLB) is pleased to announce its Building Enduring Land Trusts initiative, to encourage and support the merger of land trusts in Connecticut to build more enduring, active organizations. Grant funds are available to cover the actual cost of a merger – and, on a multi-year basis, for the general operating costs of the merged organization.
Please find below an outline of the Building Enduring Land Trusts program, including the guidelines for submitting a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) and the steps that would follow for selected organizations. These details are also available on the PCLB website.

The PCLB Foundation cares deeply about preserving open space – and is excited to see Connecticut land trusts merge, to improve their ability to protect land and become more sustainable. We look forward to hearing about merger plans that Connecticut land trusts might have and how PCLB might be supportive of those efforts.
Please share this opportunity widely, especially with your Board and staff!
