For the fourth consecutive year, boys and girls attending The Wilderness School , a program of the CT Department of Children and Families, teamed up with Harwinton Land Trust to assist with important stewardship work on two of the land trust’s preserves.

The projects included rebuilding two dams and a dike, as well as returning back to its footings a waterlogged footbridge (shown above) that had been carried 150 feet downstream by floodwaters. Together, the HLT/TWS team got these difficult jobs done, while having fun in the process.
