Co-Creating a Legacy: Writing a 99 Year Ground Lease

Intro Level, Intermediate Level, Advanced Level

A ground lease is a long-term agreement between the land owner and the building owners. It is a legal agreement that preserves affordability and describes the responsibilities and rights of each. This workshop will walk you through the process of a Farm Ground Lease co-created by Ceiba Arbor and the Southeastern Connecticut Community Land Trust (CLT). Ceiba Arbor is an 8 person farm-arts collective who was matched with 16 acres adjacent to the Salem Land Trust and owned by the CLT. With the support of Equity Trust, we are preserving sustainable agriculture, arts education, and sacred space for QTBIPOC+ folks.
