Improving Access to the Outdoors with Sustainable CT

Room: Usdan 110
Intro Level, Intermediate Level, Advanced Level

Sustainable CT’s voluntary certification program recognizes thriving and resilient CT municipalities. Beginning in 2024, municipalities can earn credit toward certification by improving access to outdoor and open spaces in their communities. Municipalities are encouraged to gather diverse, representative groups of residents to walk through parks, playgrounds, trails, and other open spaces and provide feedback on accessibility improvements. As a next step, municipalities can work to implement those suggestions. This workshop will discuss resources available to Sustainable CT registered communities pursuing more accessible open space initiatives, including no-cost equity coaching and data resources.
