Using Print and Digital Media to Build Awareness and Connection to Your Land Trust

Room: Fayerweather 108
Intro Level, Intermediate Level, Advanced Level

This comprehensive workshop is divided into three parts, focusing on leveraging media and digital platforms to enhance the visibility and community engagement of land trusts. Initially, Janine Sullivan-Wiley will guide an interactive session on fostering collaborative relationships with local newspapers, sharing strategies for generating community-resonant stories to elevate awareness of land trusts. Following, Beth Sanford will discuss crafting compelling digital content for websites, social media, and e-newsletters to captivate donors and the local community, emphasizing efficient content planning with minimal resources. The workshop concludes with a group discussion led by Janine and Beth, offering personalized strategies for implementing these media and digital content approaches, tailored to each land trust’s resources and current digital footprint. Participants will leave this workshop with actionable insights to boost their land trust’s profile, regardless of their starting point.
