In late 2017, CLCC received its official 501c3 nonprofit determination letter from the IRS, and is starting off 2018 as a fully independent organization. If you’re surprised by this fact, then the Connecticut Forest & Park Association (CFPA) has done its job well in nurturing CLCC’s independence as its fiscal sponsor since 2010.

“CFPA has been a terrific fiscal sponsor and partner to CLCC for the past seven years,” said CLCC Board Chair, Catherine Rawson. “We literally couldn’t have gotten to this point without their stalwart support.”

“Hosting CLCC was always a labor of love for us at CFPA,” said Eric Hammerling, CFPA’s Executive Director. “Though we are now separate organizations, we expect our strong partnership to continue, especially as we fight together at the Capitol to protect our mutual interests in public lands, trails, and open spaces.”

Today, CLCC has its own Board of Directors, an office at the deKoven House in Middletown, and two fulltime and one part-time staff. CLCC’s Board is supported by an Advisory Council of conservation partners, including those that served on CLCC’s Steering Committee. Additional support will come from a new Leadership Committee formed to give long-term strategic advice to CLCC and the land conservation community it serves.

“We are very excited to have reached this milestone in our organizational development and capacity,” said CLCC’s Executive Director, Amy Blaymore Paterson. “Thanks to the support we have received from CFPA and our Steering Committee members, we expect this transition to be relatively seamless. We look forward to building upon our current land conservation priorities and continuing to provide Connecticut’s land trusts and members of the broader land conservation community with the tools, assistance, and leadership they need to be successful.”

As of January 1, 2018, CLCC’s new address is:
deKoven House
27 Washington Street, #12
