Byron Gallup, the 13th-generation landowner of Gallup Farm, partnered with the Connecticut Farmland Trust, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the Connecticut Department of Agriculture (DoAg) to complete the final easement to preserve his farm. The preservation of Gallup Farm—a 350-year-old, 498-acre dairy farm in Voluntown—protects it as a historical site, wildlife habitat, and open space.
